first aid training
Jill Colpitts and Holly Choi are both certified First Aid Instructors through the Lifesaving Society of BC/Yukon. We specialize in courses for parents and birth professionals and child care workers, and can also teach a wide range of CPR and first aid courses for other professionals as well.
2-hour CPR for parents
This 2 hour hands-on course focuses on CPR and choking for infants and children, as well as accident prevention for once babies become mobile. It is breastfeeding friendly, and pre-mobile infants are welcome to come along.
This course is for knowledge only and no certification will be awarded, as the course is only 2 hours long.
Course fee: $40+GST/person
4-hour first aid for the infant and toddler years
This 4 hour course is designed specifically for new families. It is breastfeeding friendly, and pre-mobile infants are welcome to come along. Infant and toddler injury prevention, first aid, and CPR/choking topics are discussed. CPR – B certification will be awarded.
Course fee: $65+GST/person – cost includes candidate fees, a CPR manual, and an additional resource package.
midwife cpr-hcp recert
This is a recertification in CPR-HCP for registered midwives and nurses who already have a valid (within 5 years) CPR-HCP card. The course meets the requirements for the BC College of Midwives.

This is a specialized CPR-C class for doulas. You get your usual certification in CPR-C (the appropriate class for certifications, postpartum work, etc), and we also go in to how to modify for pregnancy, and how to support clients through a neonatal recuscitation event.
This course meets the criteria for birth and postpartum certification through DONA and other organizations.
Course fee: $70+GST/person – cost includes candidate fees and a CPR manual.
car seat safety basics for newborns & beyond
90% of car seats are used incorrectly – a staggering statistic, given the number one cause of death for Canadian children over the age of 1 is motor-vehicle collisions.
Presented by Holly Choi, certified Child Passenger Safety Technician, this 2-hour presentation covers everything caregivers need to know about car seat safety for newborns. Discussion includes a wide range of topics from bringing baby home from the hospital, how to select a seat that’s right for your child, vehicle and budget, to how to avoid making common mistakes.
Course fee: $25+GST per person
